Reviews & Opinions

PUNKY GIBBON: Dating from 1978 and 1979, this is recommended, containing wonderfully obnoxious/pervy non-hits like 'Ligotage' and 'You're So Physical'. 'Lou' features Jordan on vocals and is a veritable delight. Several tracks were later re-worked for the debut album, but are better heard here. The album was reissued ten years later with three additional tracks from 1995, including an unnecessary remake of 'Antmusic', as The Complete Radio 1 Sessions.

JOE YOUNG/IRA ROBBINS/KATE LEWIS, THE TROUSER PRESS RECORD GUIDE, 1991: Historically interesting if not exactly entertaining, the ten-song Peel Sessions documents the Dirk-era band (which included future Monochrome Set bassist Andy Warren) in January and July of 1978 and March 1979, doing "Animals and Men" and "Never Trust a Man (With Egg on His Face)" from the LP, along with "Zerox," "You're So Physical" (later a B-side) and otherwise uwaxed material.

RECORD COLLECTOR, 1991: ...few Antpeople will want to pass up on this release... [read full review here]
