Reviews & Opinions

DAVID HEPWORTH, SMASH HITS, OCTOBER 4 - 17, 1979: Brasher, more rocking follow-up to the enormously successful Parallel Lines, made up of exclusively group compositions. Can boast at least three smash singles in the shape of 'Union City' Blue', 'Living In The Real World' and 'Slow Motion', not to mention 'Dreaming'. Perfectly organised rock and roll that sounds as good in your living room as it does on the radio. As hard and shiny as glass and I love it. Shake and fingerpop.

TERRY STAUNTON, RECORD COLLECTOR, 2007: Not enough food for thought. [read full review here]

PUNKY GIBBON: The digitally remastered CD from 2001 adds four live cuts: 'Die Young Stay Pretty', Johnny Cash's 'Ring Of Fire' from the Roadie soundtrack, the otherwise unrecorded but dreadful 'Seven Rooms Of Gloom' and Bowie's 'Heroes', all of which are no great shakes.
