Reviews & Opinions

PAT GILBERT, RECORD COLLECTOR, 1992: It's no accident that this collection has ended up on Link - the Business' bassist Mark Brennan runs the label. However, don't be fooled into thinking he's releasing this 28-track affair as a favour to his old mates. Unlike many of their contemporaries the Business were intelligent, humorous and musically competent, and deserve a lasting testament to their no-nonsense, man-on-the-street look at London life. The more fluid, lead guitar-led numbers, like 'Do A Runner' and the Ruts-ish 'Welcome To The Real World', are the real winners here, though other tracks such as 'Spanish Jails' and 'No Emotions' are also well worth a listen if Oi's your bag.
