Reviews & Opinions

NME, AUGUST 26th 1978: Loony old word wriggler John Cooper Clarke can do no wrong with me. But... “Look what they've done to your song, John. Look what they've done to your song. They've put a jazz funk backing (Real Hip Easy Listening). And it's turning out all wrong, John. Look what they've done to your song”. Actually, it's really easy to get used to the clavinet band jam going on behind JCC's toasting (Screw Dillinger, Ranking Sid or whoever's goin' on about any old Zion, any old Zion, any any any old Zion), and the live unaccompanied B side puts it all 100 per cent again. Shell out and play.

Additional Notes

A-Side is an edited version of the Disguise In Love track. The B-side is 2:05 according to the label, but the timer given above is correct
