Reviews & Opinions

CLIFF WHITE, SMASH HITS, JUNE 14-27, 1979: Ho hum. I realise that Devo have been darlings of New Wave chic but this is nothing to rave about, especially as there's so much echo on the lead vocal track it's difficult to concentrate on the point of the exercise. Surprising? Not really, just routine bamalama.

Additional Notes

A-Side from Duty Now For The Future. This was never issued in the US except as a promo, with 'Smart Patrol' and 'Strange Pursuit' on the B-Side (Warner Bros PRO-S-813) instead of 'Penetration'.
