Reviews & Opinions
RED STARR, SMASH HITS, JUNE 28 - JULY 11, 1979: Early sensor readings are unimpressive, but Devo's change of style definitely grows on you. Still enterprising and entertaining, their music is now much more standard, mainstream rock - almost heavy even in places! More accessible certainly, but also lacking the zany magic of old and strong tunes are in short supply. Interesting. Best trax: 'Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA', 'Secret Agent Man'. (8 out of 10).Additional Notes
The UK pressing came in four distinct versions. The first two, with the song titles in numerous fonts, came in a weird reversed sleeve, so what looks like it should be the back cover (i.e. all the song titles) is actually the front cover (i.e. the sleeve opening is on the right). The third pressing is the one with the live photo on the back. All versions of the UK pressing came with a large postcard containing song lyrics.
