Reviews & Opinions

RECORD COLLECTOR, 1992: With a total of 22 tracks comprising the band's first six singles. some outstanding early album cuts and a couple of rarities, this compilation is well worth shelling out for if you missed out on 999's releases first time round. Even after nearly fifteen years, songs like 'Emergency', 'Homocide' [sic] and the classic punk B-Side [sic] 'Feelin' Alright With The Crew' sound fresh and interesting - traits which owe something to the fact that the band churned out finely crafted pop songs rather than social statements or outlandish musical experiments. 999 completists will be interested in the inclusion here of 'Action' and 'Waiting', previously only available on a limited edition 12" given away with initial copies of their second album, 'Separates', in 1978,
