Credits

In A Rut/ H-Eyes:
Our first single recorded at Fairdeal 8-track studio in Hayes May '78. Originally to be released as an e.p. with a considerably slower version of Society on it till now on Misty's own label People Unite. Produced by us. Engineer: Stuart Johnson

Staring At The Rude Boys / Love In Vain:
We included Love In Vain on this record because nobody listened to it as the B-Side of Staring At The Rude Boys and in case you didn't hear the A-Side.... Produced and arranged by Mick Glossop (for Dukeslodge Enterprises) at Air and Townhouse Studios February '80. Brass added later by Bill Barnacle's Horns: Gary Barnacle (sax and quips), Bill Barnacle (trumpet and drinks & quips). Engineered by John Brand. Tape op: 'Chappie' Chambers

Demolition Dancing / Secret Soldier:
Taken from the last John Peel session we did around February '80. (Thanks to John and the BBC). Produced by Tony Wilson, engineered by Dave Dade on 8-track at Maida Vale Studios. This was the only occasion Secret Soldiers was recorded.

West One (Shine On Me)......
The backing track was recorded in a 16-track in Shepherds Bush, but we don't talk about it. The engineer was OK tho' - Paul Bass.
Overdubs and mixing engineered by John Brand at the Townhouse. Produced by us. Version mixed by Ruts and John Brand at the Townhouse. Opted tapes by Phil (Whoops, there goes the master) Vinyl.

S.U.S. / Babylon's Burning / Society:
Recorded live, CHORUS late 1979. Mixed live onto 2-track, so no overdubs whatsoever. Engineered by Michael (but we can't remember his other name). Bosun o' the mix: Andy Dayman

Front cover painting: Oliver Howard
Credits meticulously typed by Julie (in working hours)
Thanks to various roadies and helpers....
Mannah (star of the stage etc), Chris and Bob Kelly, Dave Parsons, Paul and Davey, and roadies on the Damned tour, and anyone else who has ever humped the humblest case.

People who have helped...
Everybody (especially the cooks) at the Townhouse, Jimmy O'Neil and John Clarke, and all at Deeply Vale. Rob and all at Sunday School. Segs' mum, Paul's mum and dad, Andy "Hot Hooves" Dayman, Tommy "you've got to go on noo" Crossan, John Peel, Bob Johnson and the Gas, the Dimmed (we've got the form this big band one day....), the Howards, Maurice, Mick de Organ, and of course you lot.

Compiled and edited by John Brand and the Ruts.
