TANZ DER YOUTH

Formed: London, England, UK

Brian James' disappointing post-Damned outfit, Tanz Der Youth was something of a flop. They toured with Black Sabbath (and were bottled and jeered off stage every night); interestingly, The Damned also supported the Sabs on one night of the same tour. In addition to James the band comprised bassist Andy Colqhoun (The Zips/The Rockets/Warsaw Pakt/The Rockets/Pink Fairies/The Deviants), drummer Allen Powell (Hawkwind) and keyboardist Tony Moor (no other credits). August 1978 saw them recording four songs for Peel Session: 'Delay', 'I'm Sorry', ' Why I Die' and ' Mistaken'. The first of these two songs were issued (in "proper" versions) as 1978 as the psychedelic (sorry, "transmagical") I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry 45 for Radar.
