Reviews & Opinions

PUNKY GIBBON: A limited edition 2-CD set (5000 copies) of 42 previously unreleased tracks, dating from to 1977 to 1987. This time you get nine alternate versions of songs from their third studio LP and two that didn’t make it onto that record, Booji Boy singing Dylan’s ‘Gotta Serve Somebody’ (truly a mad moment), and Toni Basil singing ‘The Only One’. A fair amount of the tracks are songs that were never released properly at all (the title track comes from 1977), and despite having too much from their post-peak period, it’s as essential a purchase as this sort of thing could be. If you can find it that is!

Additional Notes

Reissued as a 4xLP set in 2017 by Futurismo (FUTNO27B).
