Reviews & Opinions

PUNKY GIBBON: Disc one is a digitally remastered version of R.I.P., but adding three previously unreleased tracks, including studio versions of ‘Funhunt’ and ‘Time’ from 1979. Disc two contains a complete concert recording from 1977 (at the Music Machine, with awful sound that effectively buries Hell’s vocals) and four songs from 1978 (at CBGB’s, sounding better). The Music Machine stuff is outrageous, punishing, brutal music, and even features a cameo from Johnny Rotten, who invades the stage to demand an encore. Interesting obviously.
