Reviews & Opinions

PUNKY GIBBON: The Stranglers Information Service released this to document the various SIS releases throughout the years. Tracks 1,2,7 and 8 feature the Cornwell/Burnel/Greenfield/Black lineup of the band (although 'Tomorrow Was The Hereafter' doesn't even sound like The Stranglers); tracks 9-10 feature the Roberts/Greenfield/Burnel/Black/Ellis version and isn't worth a wank. Mind you, the whole disc is for fans only. A Marriage of Convenience is a one-off studio band with Jet Black on drums and Stranglers fan Chris Twomey on vocals, running through a newly recorded (and very boring) version of a very old Stranglers song, 'My Young Dreams'. Tracks 4,5 and 6 are interesting J.J. Burnel solo efforts which sound like Euroman Cometh outtakes ('Gone Are Those Days' was later recorded by The Stranglers as 'How To Find True Love And Happiness In The Present Day').

Additional Notes

The entire contents of this CD was later reissued as part of The Rarities.
