Reviews & Opinions
PUNKY GIBBON: Great music, but conceptually a bit of a pathetic comp that goes against everything band supposedly stood for. Two live tracks are the only previously unreleased cuts and, well, they're hardly essential. Even the title is essentially an old joke, presumably based on the Sex Pistols' Flooged A Dead Horse LP.
AMAZON REVIEWER: Sorry Ray, but it's stuff like this that makes me think you really were the bad guy after all.
AMAZON REVIEWER: If you support thieving, opportunistic back-stabbers, who repackage songs they were only minimally involved in creating, then this is the album for you.
JAMES CHRISTOPHER MONGER, ALL MUSIC GUIDE: The very concept of a "greatest hits" collection from San Francisco punk legends the Dead Kennedys fits right in with the group's penchant for establishment parody, but the irony is that Manifesto's 12-track Milking the Sacred Cow is the perfect primer for young punks in training and a satisfying shot of politically charged jet fuel for longtime fans.
GED BABEY, RECORD COLLECTOR, 2007: Where are you going this year? I'm gonna Holiday in Cambodia. [read full review here]
