Formed: Penzance, Cornwall, England, 1977
This pretty obscure but rather good band mixed punk with psychedelia and boogie with enough panache to earn themselves a cult status. Both of their singles are rare gems. Their first outing however was on the Double Booked compilation, which was released by the William IV pub in Truro, Cornwall to promote local bands. 'Marilyn Munroe' was boogie basically, 'Natty Punko' a punk piss-take. After the Mushy Doubt EP the band moved to London, underwent a lineup shuffle and released their second single, Working, in 1979. The same year also saw an LP being recorded, but the group split up and it was only released posthumously in 1988, as World Inside. Another archival release, the Time 7", had been issued in 1986.
The band reformed in 2012. Guitarist Richard Booth and keyboard player Duncan Kerr also played with Plummet Airlines.
