Reviews & Opinions
FRED DELLAR, SMASH HITS, APRIL 16 -29, 1981: The working man's 9 to 5 (or rather 8 to 5) - clocking in, knocking out, bussing home, dossing down - brought to you in startling Clash-O-Scope. Funky-butt bass, rat-a-tat lyrics, heavy handclaps and a liberal scattering of electric piano chords add up to a Blockheads-style boogaloo of some potency.
PUNKY GIBBON: An edited version of the Sandinsita! track: good stuff in a rap stylee, but shortening it doesn't improve it in any way. Fairly boring instrumental remix on the B-Side. The 12" has two exclusive (at the time) versions of the same songs. The A-Side is 4:22 (i.e. in terms of length, halfway between the single and album versions), the flip 5:30 or so.Additional Notes
No musicians are credited in the single, although Norman Watt-Roy, not Paul Simonon, certainly played bass.
