A SMALL CREATURE OF SORTS (IN SHORTS), SMASH HITS, MAY 1 - 14, 1980: It's not the fact that The Rejects can't play that offends me. Nor their blustering attempts at songwriting. Neither is it the fact that they haven't got two ideas to rub together. What bothers me is that there are apparently people who can't see through it all. It's records as boring and self congratulatory as this that makes you wonder if punk achieved anything at all. Or did it run up a blind alley and commit suicide banging its head against the wall?
