PUNKY GIBBON: A comment on animal cruelty - specifically the mass slaughter of turkeys each Christmas - disguised as a practical joke at the expense of punks and/or new romantics, the "Crass" name is disguised as Creative Recordings And Sound Services" and the music sounds nowt like Crass: no guitars, no vocals (except for the Santa Claus impressions), this is like The Human League on helium, performing sped-up Crass songs and traditional Xmas tunes on a cheap Bontempi keyboard, and it's terrible, albeit on purpose. Figuring out the songs is fun, though, and it's hard not to smile. Top marks for the sleeve's hoax competition offering Exploited singles as booby prizes.
