Sung for you by Joy De VivreReviews & Opinions
PUNKY GIBBON: A sarcastically soppy love song sung by Joy over a cheesy synthesiser, which they sent incognito to a magazine called Loving, which was one of those godawful "teen dream" type rags full of shit photo stories and zit/boyfriend/makeup advice etc. The "Crass" name was disguised as Creative Recordings And Sound Service, a trick they repeated on the Merry Christmas single, and the magazine issued it as a one-sided flexi without guessing it was a pisstake - not even the bit at the end where the wedding bells go out of tune clued them up. It has been known to fetch over £200 on e-Bay, so thankfully the band included it as a coda to their feminist statement, the brilliant Penis Envy. The song is actualy quite pretty.Additional Notes
One-sided flexi, free with ‘Loving’ magazine, added to the end of Penis Envy.
