Reviews & Opinions

PUNKY GIBBON: Essential Brit punk, up there with the Pistols and The Clash. Much better than single #1, 'Borstal Breakout' is a terrific piece of tongue-in-cheek thuggery that still sounds fresh and exciting. And though Sham never got much notice for their smarts, the lyrics make it unclear whether the antagonist is breaking out of Borstal to exact revenge on an enemy or to see his missus. Great B-Side too ("I didn't get no GCE/It makes you fink you can't talk to me")! 'Hey Little Rich Boy' is the same version from the upcoming LP Tell Us The Truth. There was a live version of 'Borstal Breakout' on the same LP.
