Reviews & Opinions
CHAINSAW, JUNE 1978: This album is a lot better than I thought it would be. I saw 999 about six months ago and I thought they were crap, but I quite like this. True, there are some boring tracks on this (most of the boring ones are on side one) but there's some great stuff on this as well. It's not anywhere as good as the Buzzcocks album [Another Music In A Different Kitchen] but there's a lot more variety on this. It's not typical-three chord punk - the songs have all got tunes and they haven't given this a wall of noise production. And I think the 999 singer is a better singer than Billy Idol. My rating: ***Additional Notes
This was imported into the US. You can spot these imported copies because of the "JEM" sticker on the front cover. Otherwise, it's identical to the UK pressing
