Lineup 1 (September 1976):

Siouxsie Sioux (real name Susan Ballion) - vocals
Steven Havoc/Severin (real name Steven Bailey) - bass
Marco Pirroni - guitar (pre-The Models/Rema Rema/Adam and the Ants/Spear of Destiny etc)
Sid Vicious (real name Simon John Ritchie, RIP 1979, pre-Flowers of Romance/Sex Pistols) - drums

Recorded: Nothing. Played one gig only, at the 100 Club Punk Festival

Lineup 2 (November 1976 - May 1977):

Siouxsie Sioux - vocals
Steven Severin - bass
Peter Fenton - guitar (pre-39 Spies)
Kenny Morris - drums

Recorded: The Riverside demo on the 12-14th June 1977. This photo gives a good idea of why Fenton was considered unsuitable. Right at the start of November Nils Stevenson played guitar but quickly moved to the manager spot instead. There was also a violinist called Simone briefly involved.

Lineup 3 (June 1977 - September 1979):

Siouxsie Sioux - vocals
John McKay - guitar, saxophone

Recorded: Hong Kong Garden, The Scream, The Staircase (Mystery), Playground Twist, Join Hands, Mittageisen (Metal Postcard) / Love In A Void and the first three Peel Sessions (November '77, February '78 and April '79).

Lineup 4 (September - October 1979):

Robert Smith - guitar (The Cure)
Peter "Budgie" Clarke - drums (The Slits; ex-The Spitfire Boys/Big In Japan)

Recorded: nothing. Played on the second half of the Join Hands tour

Lineup 5 (Early 1980 - Late 1982):

Steven Severin - bass + other instruments
John McGeoch (RIP 2004) - guitar + other instruments (Visage, ex-Magazine, pre-The Armoury Show/Public Image Limited)
Budgie - drums + other instruments

Recorded: Kaleidoscope, Juju and A Kiss In The Dreamhouse, plus all singles taken from these LPs, and a fourth Peel Session (February 1981). Steve Jones also contributed guest guitar to Kaleidoscope. McGeoch played with the Banshees throughout most of 1980 but didn't officially join until late in the year.
